The annual trip of Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa commenced on a splendid Saturday morning.

The voyage towards the Northwestern Province unfolded with a sense of urgency, ensuring the reservation of ample moments full of blissful experiences at the destination. By the afternoon, the bus arrived in the enchanting region of Matale where our gracious host club, Rotaract Club of Matale welcomed us with their beautiful bright smiles. Serpente: Illuminating the Essence of Snakes and Advocating for their Protection

Serpente, a captivating endeavor spearheaded by Rotaract Alumni Mora, exudes a profound mission of illuminating the essence of snakes and advocating for their imperative protection. Within the enchanting borders of Sri Lanka reside a myriad of serpent species, boasting an astonishing count of 96, with 50 exclusively endemic to this island sanctuary. Furthermore, Sri Lanka embraces the presence of 13 sea snake species and 10 blind snake species.

The Joy of Organizing the Project “Let’s Meet”

It brings me immense joy as a member of the Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa to have spearheaded our club’s service project initiative, named “Let’s Meet”. Together with my fellow club service director, Manul, we endeavoured to create a platform for our members to come together on a monthly basis, forge strong bonds and friendships while having a good time. Through the course of the year, we curated five “Let’s Meet” events, each with its distinct theme and unforgettable experiences.

Reeling in Sustainable Solutions: Exploring Innovative Approaches to Combat Overfishing and Restore Marine Ecosystems

Overfishing is one of the most significant threats to the world’s marine ecosystems. Making someone’s designer dream into a reality through volunteering.

At the beginning of the RI Year 2022-23, we received multiple requests to conduct a physical workshop for En Vogue 1.0, which we newly initiated in 2022. In response, we organized En Vogue 2.0 Phase one,  a three-day Beeralu-making workshop collaborating with Nifty Looms held at National Craft Council premises from 21st to 23rd December as a physical event.

An Act of Kindness – Kindred Kidneys

Among the numerous projects that have been initiated so far, Kindred Kidneys has the honor of being an outstanding project the club has been working on for a few years. Kindred Kidneys which is a massive cause in the community service arena, has many phases throughout the project that allow us to work and extend more on our work aimed at supporting the kidney patients being our main targeted community to start this cause. Let’s learn more on the project we have been working on so far.

“No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.”

Rotaract Alumni Mora is one of the clubs that has brought glory to not just our country and Rotaract District 3220, but to Rotaract movement as a whole and their 10th Installation Ceremony was held on the 20th of August at the Royal Skills Center, Colombo. As our country is currently going through a tough time, not everyone had the privilege to be physically present in the event.  Yet, they were allowed to be virtually present via online platforms and join the ceremony as they officially took over the responsibility to begin a new chapter in their Rotaract journey.
