Transition General Meeting
The Official Transition Meeting of Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa for the year 2023-24 was held on the 15th of July 2023 at Royal Skills Center, Colombo 07.
The ceremony officially commenced with the national anthem. The President of the RI year 2022-23, Rtr.Ayesh Weerasinghe called the Transition General Meeting of Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa to order at 3.00 PM. Following the commencement, Rtr. Nethma Mettananda presented the Rotaract formalities including, Flag salutation, Rotaract Invocation and the Four-Way Test. President, Rtr. Ayesh Weerasinghe officially welcomed the gathering to the Transition General Meeting of Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa.
Following a cordial welcome, the Secretary’s Report for the RI year 2022-23 was delivered by Secretary Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage. During her address, she highlighted several successful projects that were undertaken across various domains over the preceding Rotaract Calendar Year. She attributed the accomplishments of the year 2022/23 to the dedication and contributions of the club members. Subsequently, a retrospective video was presented to recollect all the shared memories and challenges faced as a collective throughout the duration of 2022-23.
The Outgoing President, Rtr. Ayesh Weerasinghe, addressed the assembled attendees, reflecting upon the club’s service during the past year and acknowledging the support he received from fellow club members, the board of officials, and the guiding club coordinator. He expressed his profound appreciation for the project chairs and individuals who stood by him during his tenure, emphasizing the remarkable achievements of his Rotary International year 2022-23. In conclusion, he extended his heartfelt wishes to the incoming President and her board, anticipating a prosperous year ahead.
The assembly was subsequently convened and presided over by Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage, departing Secretary, who commended the exemplary efforts presented during the Rotaract term of 2022-23. She conveyed her sincere appreciation for the unwavering commitment of all individuals who consistently contributed and supported, culminating the year on a noteworthy high.
Embarking on a new beginning to the journey the official theme revealing for RI year 2023-24 of Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa took place.
“Limitless You for a Passion Driven Future”
The inauguration of the year’s President 2023-24, Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage took place subsequently. The outgoing President Rtr. Ayesh Weerasinghe announced the incoming President and signed off from his duties officially. Then the most awaited moment of the day arrived when the President for the year 2023-24 Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage was collared by the Outgoing President Rtr. Ayesh Weerasinghe as the newly appointed president to take forward the duties and further enhance the value of the club.
As the President for the year 2022-23, Rtr. IPP. Ayesh Weerasinghe handed over the duties to the President for year 2023-24, Rtr.Lakshani Pathirage, by symbolically passing the collar.
The newly inaugurated President, Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage, was given the privilege of addressing the gathered attendees in her capacity as the 11th President of Rotaract Club of Alumni of the University of Moratuwa. Within her discourse, she emphasized the significance of fostering mutual support among club members and volunteer personnel. She also invited everyone to join hands on the new journey to drive the 11th episode of the club with limitless you for a passion driven future.
In winding up her speech, she stated, “You can’t achieve anything if you wait for the ideal opportunity to get started. Since there is never a good moment to do anything, grab your opportunities and do the best for the Rotaract moment.”
Then the newly appointed President 2023-24, Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage introduced her Board of Directors for the year 2023-24 and handed over the appointment letters for the new Rotaract year.

With the official introduction of Board of officials for the RI year 2023-24, the Assistant Rotaract District Representative 2023-24 Rtr. PP Sasitha Eldeniya addressed the gathering and expressed her warm regards to the transition general meeting and for the new journey of the club.
Following her, Rtr. Duleetha Sandaruwan addressed the gathering and mentioned that he is looking forward to joining hands with the club while adding warm wishes to the coming year.
To conclude the day’s proceedings, Joint Secretaries Rtr. Nikith Fernando and Rtr. Danushi Suriyarachchi delivered the vote of thanks and terminated the Transition General Meeting of Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa for fellowship by the President, Rtr. Lakshani Pathirage.
The beginning of an excellent journey that accomplished its goal of success, whilst clearing the pathway for another journey to be brightened by extraordinary endeavors….
